PATNA, A continuous power outage for 26 hours from Thursday afternoon to Friday in Bihar’s Nawada’s Kawakol block area caused widespread distress among residents, particularly concerning access to drinking water. The prolonged power failure led to submersible pumps ceasing to function, leaving people desperate for every drop of water. Amidst the harsh weather conditions, the lack of electricity has exacerbated the already challenging situation.
Residents report that irregular and arbitrary power cuts have disrupted the consistent supply of electricity, causing significant inconvenience. The resulting disruptions have made it difficult for submersible pumps to operate, thereby affecting the water supply. Consumers are now forced to endure both the scorching heat and the struggle to find water.
Appeal to Authorities
Despite multiple complaints, the electricity department has shown little seriousness in addressing the issue. Local public representatives have also been largely unresponsive. Residents have expressed frustration that neither the officers nor the employees of the department are heeding their complaints. In light of this, the people of Kawakol have appealed to District Collector of Bihar’s Nawada district to intervene and rectify the arbitrary power cuts and improve the electricity supply system in the area.
