The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) has released notification for the entrance test for admission to the five-year B.Sc.-M.S. dual degree program. Additionally, applicants can also apply for the four-year B.Sc. degree course at the IISER Bhopal campus. Candidates interested in both these degree programs will have to appear for the IISER Aptitude Test 2024. The test is scheduled to be held on June 9, 2024, at various centers across the country, including IISER campuses in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, and Tirupati.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or its equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or 2024 with a minimum of 60% marks in science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics). Applicants awaiting the results of the 12th examination this year are also eligible to apply.
Test Pattern:
The IISER Aptitude Test 2024 will consist of a total of 60 multiple-choice questions, with 15 questions from each subject – Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The duration of the test will be three hours, and each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The total marks obtained will determine the rank of the candidate.
Seat Availability:
Through the IISER Aptitude Test 2024, candidates can secure admission to the B.Sc. and B.Sc.-M.S. (dual degree) programs. The B.Sc. program in Engineering Sciences and Economic Sciences is offered only at the IISER Bhopal campus. The B.Sc.-M.S. program focuses on Natural Sciences, Engineering Sciences, and Economic Sciences. The number of seats available for the B.Sc.-M.S. program is as follows: Berhampur (180), Bhopal (255), Kolkata (250), Mohali (250), Pune (288), Tirupati (275), Thiruvananthapuram (320).
Application Process:
Interested candidates can apply online through the IISER website, iiseradmission.in. The application fee is Rs. 2000 for General, EWS, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) category candidates, and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. The last date to apply is May 13, 2024.
