In Bihar, candidates for the first and second phases of Lok Sabha elections come from diverse educational backgrounds, ranging from non-matriculate to doctors. Let’s delve into the profiles of these candidates for both phases. Among them are candidates whose age ranges from above 80 to nearly 50 years old. Some candidates boast high-profile degrees, with a few having pursued MBAs from foreign universities, while one candidate holds an MBBS degree. Another candidate is non-matriculate. These statistics encompass candidates from both the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan alliances. Candidates have disclosed their age and highest educational qualifications in their affidavits. A total of nine candidates have been finalized for the Lok Sabha seats in both phases. The first phase of voting is scheduled for April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, BJP candidate Sushil Kumar Singh, contesting from Aurangabad, is 58 years old. On the other hand, Mahagathbandhan’s candidate, Abhay Kumar Sinha, has an age of 53 years and has completed his education until intermediate level.
For the Nawada constituency, BJP candidate Vivek Thakur, aged 54, holds a degree in Law and has worked in the IAF. Conversely, Mahagathbandhan’s candidate, Shravan Kushwaha, aged around 50, has completed education up to matriculation level.
In Banka, Giridhari Yadav, the current MP and NDA candidate, aged 63, holds Master’s degrees in History and Law. In contrast, Mahagathbandhan’s Jayaprakash Narayan Yadav, aged 70, also holds a Master’s degree.
Furthermore, candidates like Dr. Mo. Javed, a Congress nominee from Kishanganj, aged 60, holds an MBBS degree, whereas JDU’s candidate Mujahid Alam, aged 54, holds a Bachelor’s degree from Patna University. In the same constituency, AIMIM’s candidate Akhtarul Imam, aged 60, has completed his education until MA from Magadh University.
Pappu Yadav, a former MP from Purnia, aged 56, holds a Bachelor’s degree from BNMU. Meanwhile, RJD’s candidate, Bima Bharati, aged 49, is a matriculate. Additionally, NDA’s Santosh Kumar, aged 48, has completed his education up to intermediate level.
These diverse educational backgrounds highlight the eclectic mix of candidates vying for parliamentary seats in Bihar.
