In a recent press conference during his two-nation visit to India and Vietnam, U.S. President Joe Biden displayed his wit and humor. When questioned about his interaction with China’s President Xi Jinping, President Biden jovially quipped, “I don’t know about you, but I am going to bed.”

President Biden, wrapping up his visit to India and Vietnam, continued to amuse the audience by stating, “I tell you what, I don’t know about you, but I’m going to go to bed.”

During the press conference, President Biden responded to inquiries about his communication with world leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Notably, both were absent from the recent G20 Summit in New Delhi.

In a lighthearted moment, President Biden maintained, “I’ll just follow my orders here. Staff, is there anybody that hasn’t spoken yet? I ain’t calling on you.”

On the topic of reducing fossil fuels, President Biden provided a whimsical reference to a John Wayne western film, saying, “The Indian looks at John Wayne and points to the Union soldier and says, ‘He’s a lying, dog-faced pony soldier!’ Well, there’s a lot of lying, dog-faced pony soldiers out there about global warming.”

Critics have speculated that these exchanges are indicative of President Biden’s campaigning for the 2024 election. However, the White House emphasized the President’s busy schedule, which includes a five-day world tour and participation in the G20 summit in India before arriving in Hanoi.

White House Deputy Communications Director Herbie Ziskend posted details of President Biden’s packed itinerary on social media, highlighting his engagements in Vietnam and a 9/11 commemoration event in Alaska.

President Biden’s remarks provided a light-hearted moment during his diplomatic visit, showcasing his ability to engage with the media and the public.
