Patna, In a startling development, a plot of land seized by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from the main accused in the Bihar topper scam has reportedly fallen into the hands of the land mafia. Amit Kumar alias Bacha Rai, who was arrested by the ED in connection with the scam involving education department and college officials, had his properties, including Vishun Roy College in Vaishali district, seized by the ED.
The ED has raised concerns that land mafias have taken control of the seized plots and initiated construction activities on them. To address this alarming situation, the ED has approached the Bihar Police, urging strict action against the land mafia. Amit Kumar, the principal of Vishun Roy College when the scam was exposed in 2016, is alleged to have taken over the land, prompting an investigation by the police.
According to ED assistant director Rajiv Ranjan’s FIR to Bhagwanpur police, construction activities by Amit Kumar on the seized land have been banned following the ED’s intervention. Police officer Om Prakash stated that an inquiry has commenced, and appropriate action will be taken against Amit Kumar.
This development adds another layer to the Bihar topper scam, where officials allegedly accepted substantial sums from students to secure top ranks in the undetected scam.
