PATNA: The Bihar Police launched ‘Mission Jan Seva’ [public service ] to provide police services both offline and online to citizens. Now, the people won’t have to rush to the police stations for tasks like verification of passport, licence, character certificate or other such works as these services can now be coventntally applied for online.
law and order department of Bihar Police will serve as nodal agency for this initiative.ADG (HQ) Jitendra Singh Gangwar said on Friday, “People will get online service for several documents. And also register complaints related to mobile phone and vehicle theft and chain snatching. The e-FIR and e-station diary facility will be provide online. The website will use ID verification filters to identify the complainants.”
Gangwar further said the Dial-112 police service will be accessible statewide within 20 minutes. During the stage-1 of the mission, 400 vehicles will be deployed in the state, including 100 in Patna. A total of 883 four-wheelers and 550 two-wheelers will be deployed in the ERSS 24×7 Emergency Police Response. A target of 30 minutes has been set to respond to the complainants and inquiry will be completed into 30 days, he said.
“WhatsApp groups will be formed at the village and colony levels to ensure that important information could be accessible to people. Common people could voluntry associated with the police via social media groups. The police officials will hear the public grievances through Facebook live and videoconferencing. The service has been started in all the districts this month after successful completion of pilot projects in five districts — Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur and Gaya,” he added.
