The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto for the 2024 Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Election. The manifesto, titled “Developed India, Developed Arunachal Pradesh,” was issued by the party’s national president JP Nadda and Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
The manifesto pledges to strengthen the basic infrastructure, empower women, create employment opportunities, and ensure accountable governance. Nadda stated that the BJP-led central government is working towards the development of Northeastern states in various sectors such as electricity, tourism, internet connectivity, agriculture, and sports.
Promise to Increase PM-Kisan Amount to Rs 9000
Expanding on the manifesto, JP Nadda announced that the government will increase the annual financial assistance to farmers under the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi” scheme from Rs 6000 to Rs 9000.
Gas Cylinder at Rs 400
Nadda also mentioned that every woman enrolled in undergraduate or vocational courses will receive a savings assistance of Rs 50,000 under the revamped “Dulari Kanya” scheme. Additionally, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will be provided gas cylinders at a rate of Rs 400 per cylinder.
Promise to Generate 25,000 Jobs and Self-Employment Opportunities
The government plans to deliver life-saving medicines and essential medical supplies to over 500 remote villages through drones. Nadda further stated that they will create 25,000 job and self-employment opportunities for youth and women. The government is committed to doubling per capita income in the state over the next five years.
Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Election Schedule
The schedule for the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly election was announced along with the Lok Sabha elections. Voting will take place in a single phase on April 19, with the results expected to be announced two days before the Lok Sabha election results on June 2.
Pre-election Victory for BJP in Arunachal Pradesh
Ahead of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2024, the BJP secured victories on 10 seats. Chief Minister Pema Khandu and 10 other legislators won their seats uncontested.

Total of 169 Candidates in the Fray for Assembly Elections
A total of 169 candidates will contest for the 60 seats in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly. Valid nominations include 59 from the BJP, 23 from Congress, 16 from the National People’s Party (NPP), and 23 from the National People’s Party (NPP). Additionally, 29 independent candidates will contest the assembly elections.
Arunachal Pradesh’s Representation in Lok Sabha
For the Lok Sabha elections, 14 candidates will compete for the two seats in Arunachal Pradesh. The elections for these seats will take place on April 19. Central Earth Sciences Minister Kiran Rijiju and NPP leader Nabam Tuki have filed their nominations from the Arunachal West Lok Sabha seat. Eight candidates are contesting for this seat. Similarly, eight candidates are contesting for the Arunachal East Lok Sabha seat.
BJP’s Dominance in 2019
In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP displayed a remarkable performance, securing 41 out of 60 seats in the legislature. The Janata Dal (United) won seven seats, the National People’s Party (NPP) secured five, Congress won four, the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA) won one, and independents secured two seats.
