Patna: The Economic Offences Unit (IOU) has issued notices to 20 officials in connection with the alleged leak of the 67th preliminary exam conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). These officials have been summoned for questioning later this month, with all of them being posted in various districts of Bihar. IOU suspects their involvement in the leak, prompting an investigation.
IOU, tasked with probing the BPSC’s 67th exam leak case that transpired in 2022, has already arrested a Bihar Police Service officer. The investigation also extends to several exam center administrators. Prior to the exam commencement, a DSP-level official was arrested for allegedly leaking a set of question papers.
Notably, the IOU has apprehended 17 individuals, including six government officials, thus far. The officials who received notices include Deputy Superintendents of Police, SDMs, and Product Inspectors, among others. However, IOU officials refrain from commenting on the matter.
According to sources, IOU will gather comprehensive information from officials regarding their exam clearance and appointment procedures. Each official will undergo separate interrogations, with their statements compared with those previously interrogated. After cross-verification, it will be determined whether there were any irregularities in their appointment process.
