In a noteworthy development, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has initiated the phased release of results for the recruitment of teachers, commencing with higher secondary positions. The Department of Education swiftly announced that counseling sessions for successful candidates would be conducted in their respective districts at designated centers from October 18 to October 24. This announcement comes as part of the Bihar Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) Result 2023 .
As a grand culmination of this process, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will personally bestow appointment letters to over a hundred thousand teachers during a ceremonial event scheduled for November 2 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. These appointments come on the heels of the successful completion of the counseling process, in anticipation of the Bihar Legislature’s upcoming session, commencing on November 6.
To underscore the government’s commitment to providing an impressive 10-lakh job opportunities, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take the initiative to personally hand over these coveted appointment letters. The Department of Education has already issued instructions to the Patna District Education Officer (DEO) to ensure the necessary preparations for this momentous event.
In a communication addressed to all district magistrates, Additional Chief Secretary (Education) KK Pathak emphasized the importance of timely and efficient counseling. Following this, the appointed teachers will undergo orientation programs in their respective schools.
Originally scheduled to commence on October 20, it was decided that counseling for recommended candidates for Class 11-12 positions could begin from October 18 itself. District magistrates have been requested to deploy adequate security forces at the designated centers to maintain law and order. Furthermore, education department officials are urged to be exempt from any other duties, including law and order responsibilities, from October 18 onward. Leaves for education department officials at the district and block levels have been temporarily canceled to ensure a seamless counseling process.
The Department of Education has also made arrangements for the program on November 2 at Gandhi Maidan and has reserved the venue accordingly.
This significant recruitment drive was initiated by the Bihar government on June 30, with invitations for applications to fill over 1.70-lakh teaching positions in primary, secondary, and senior secondary schools across the state. It is undoubtedly the most extensive recruitment endeavor in the region. However, it should be noted that not all vacancies will be filled at once, and any remaining positions will be incorporated into a subsequent teacher recruitment cycle, including middle school appointments for classes 6-8.
