Bihar Cyber Crime News:Four cybercriminals who cloned fingerprints and lured innocent people into fraudulent transactions from their bank accounts have been arrested by the Nawada police. These cyber fraudsters employed new tactics to commit cyber fraud. In this case, the police have recovered a substantial amount of evidence related to cyber fraud.

The arrested suspects were found in possession of seven mobile phones, two laptops, three checkbooks, three passbooks, 13 ATM cards, 24 SIM cards, three pen drives, five OTP machines, four fingerprint scanner machines, one stamp-making machine, 255 fake fingerprints, and two lakh rupees in cash.

Nawada SP Kartikeya Sharma stated that on March 4th, a cyber fraud case was registered at the cyber police station in Nawada city by Dr. P.S. Chaudhary. He revealed that fraudulent transactions totaling Rs. 158,700 were made from his account between October 22, 2023, and January 28, 2024. Based on this, an investigation into the cyber incident was initiated.

SP Kartikeya Sharma, while addressing a press conference, highlighted the challenge the police face in dealing with the increasing number of cybercriminals in the district. He emphasized the need to raise awareness among the youth and announced the commencement of an awareness campaign soon.

Among the apprehended cybercriminals, Navlesh Kumar, son of Bindu Ram from Bhelua village in the Warisaliganj police station area of Nawada district; Anil Kumar, son of Dwarika Paswan from Asadhi village in the Mufassil police station area; Rajkumar, son of Darbari Chaudhary from Mosama village in the Warisaliganj police station area; and Ram Babu, son of Ishwar Chaudhary from Eshwar village in the Sarmera police station area of Nalanda district, have been sent into judicial custody.

All the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the law. It is imperative to educate the youth to prevent them from falling victim to such scams. Although progress has been made, there is still much work to be done.
