Gorakhpur: In the wake of contentious remarks made by DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding Sanatana Dharma, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphatically stated that Sanatana Dharma stands as the sole religion, while all others are regarded as sects and modes of worship.
Addressing the ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya’ event, Yogi Adityanath expounded, “Sanatana Dharma represents the true religion, with the remainder constituting sects and approaches to worship. Sanatana Dharma epitomizes the religion of humanity, and any assault upon it would precipitate a global crisis for humanity.”
The Chief Minister delivered these remarks during the concluding session of the seven-day ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya’ conducted at the Gorakhnath Temple.
This event commemorated the 54th death anniversary of Mahant Digvijay Nath and the 9th death anniversary of the revered national saint, Mahant Avaidyanath.
Chief Minister Yogi stressed the significance of fostering an open-minded outlook to grasp the profound essence of Shrimad Bhagwat, transcending narrow perspectives and grappling with its vastness.
He asserted, “The saga of Bhagwat is boundless and resists confinement within specific days or hours. It flows unceasingly, with devotees perpetually assimilating its profound wisdom into their lives.”
Earlier, on Monday, Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to Mahant Digvijay Nath, emphasizing the prioritization of the nation and society by saints. He hailed Mahant Digvijay Nath as an exemplary saint who confronted the challenges of his era.
Additionally, the Chief Minister recounted that Mahant Digvijay Nath, hailing from the Rana clan of Mewar, Rajasthan, devoted his life to the motherland while championing the nation’s self-respect. He embarked on various religious and political endeavors, striving to introduce novel initiatives for society.
Chief Minister Yogi elaborated, “Upon joining Gorakshpeeth, Mahant Digvijaynath laid primary emphasis on education and established the Maharana Pratap Education Council. In order to infuse nationalism into the younger generation, he expanded his educational institutions. The Education Council initiated by him has significantly contributed to the establishment of a university and has established its own university. Moreover, by instituting forty-eight educational training centers, it is actively preparing the younger generation to confront challenges pertaining to the nation and society.”
