Patna: To ensure traffic management on Ashok Rajpath, city buses will not operate within the designated period between NIT More and Kargil Chowk. In this regard, DM Kapil Ashok has directed the Traffic SP to promptly enforce control over commercial buses and others operating between NIT More and Kargil Chowk. Additionally, strict compliance with traffic regulations for auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws along this route has been mandated.
Operations to Remain Suspended during These Intervals:
City bus operations between NIT More and Kargil Chowk will be halted from 9 am to 11 am in the morning, from 1 pm to 3 pm in the afternoon, and from 5 pm to 7 pm in the evening. The Traffic SP has been instructed to ensure immediate action for the prohibition of city bus operations during these periods. The decision was made based on proposals from the District Transport Officer and Traffic Police Deputy Superintendent for facilitating the smooth commute of office-goers, students, and the general public.
Implementation to Be Expedited:
DM Kapil Ashok emphasized the need to ensure traffic management due to ongoing construction work on Ashok Rajpath and the operation of the metro. He directed the District Transport Officer, Additional District Magistrate (Law & Order), and Patna Sadar SDPO to ensure orderly traffic management. Traffic SP Ashok Kumar Choudhary stated that a review of the designated time for suspending city bus operations is underway in consultation with the administration. Discussions are ongoing, and decisions will be taken at every juncture for swift implementation.
