The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a petition urging to declare Prime Minister Narendra Modi ineligible for contesting elections for six years. The petition alleged PM Modi of seeking votes in the name of deities, which the court deemed incorrect. Justice Sachin Datta stated that the petition lacked substance. The petitioner, advocate Anand S. Jondhale, had urged the court to take action against Modi for allegedly seeking votes in the name of deities and places of worship, violating the Model Code of Conduct and Indian Penal Code. Lok Sabha elections are underway in the country.
PM Modi Targets Congress and Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha Elections
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is actively campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections, targeting Congress and Rahul Gandhi. Recently, he held a vigorous rally in Uttar Pradesh, where he criticized the Congress. During the UP rally, PM Modi accused the Congress and Samajwadi Party of seeking votes to amend the Constitution to provide reservation based on religion. He asserted that his demand for 400 seats is to prevent the loot of reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. PM Modi assured communities like Yadavs, Kushwahas, Mauryas, Gujjars, Rajbhars, Telis, and Pals that he would protect their reservation rights.
