Nawada: Amidst the soaring temperatures and oppressive humidity, passengers traveling on the Kiul-Gaya railway section are facing severe hardships. The discomfort is exacerbated by the frequent switching off of fans and lights in the trains.
Reports indicate that when trains are halted for extended periods at stations, all fans and lights are turned off. Even after resuming the journey, at least half a dozen fans in each coach remain non-functional. Frustrated passengers can be seen trying to manually rotate the fan blades using pens or other objects. With limited ventilation options, the situation has become unbearable, leading to visible distress among passengers.
The situation at the railway stations is equally dire. On platform number one, there are only two water posts available for drinking water, leading to constant overcrowding as passengers desperately try to stay hydrated.
Despite numerous complaints lodged by passengers with the Assistant Model Engineer, there has been no improvement in the system. Daily commuters, including Nishant Kumar, Siddharth Devendra Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar, Papyu Kumar, Dharmendra Prasad, and Ajay Kumar, expressed their frustration over the inadequate arrangements. They highlighted that while there are provisions from the Railways, the extreme heat renders these efforts insufficient. Crowds gather under the fans for relief, but these fans are often turned off, exacerbating the discomfort.
The community is urging immediate action to repair the faulty amenities and improve the conditions for passengers enduring the relentless heat during their travels.
