In a stellar recognition of outstanding performances, the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the World Cup Team of the Tournament, featuring a formidable lineup of cricket stars. The squad includes six players from finalists India and two from the champion Australian team.
Leading run-scorer Virat Kohli, named Player of the Tournament, joins forces with captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and top wicket-taker Mohammed Shami in the distinguished team.
Notably, all-rounder Glenn Maxwell and spinner Adam Zampa, pivotal in Australia’s record-extending sixth title victory, secured their spots in the prestigious lineup. Maxwell’s remarkable performances, including a double century against Afghanistan and a rapid 40-ball century against the Netherlands, contributed to Australia’s success.
The selection panel, featuring cricket luminaries such as West Indies great Ian Bishop, former Australia batter Shane Watson, and ICC General Manager Wasim Khan, meticulously curated the Team of the Tournament.
