New Delhi, In a recent development, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Members of Parliament (MPs) who resigned post their triumph in the assembly polls have been directed to vacate their government accommodations in Delhi within a month, according to reliable sources.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla confirmed the acceptance of resignations from nine Lok Sabha MPs, including notable figures like Union Ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Prahlad Patel. The list encompasses Rakesh Singh, Udya Pratap Singh, and Riti Pathak from Madhya Pradesh, along with Diya Kumari, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Gomati Sai, and Arun Sao from Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, respectively. Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena has also tendered his resignation.
In a subsequent move, President Droupadi Murmu, acting on the Prime Minister’s counsel, appointed Arjun Munda to handle additional responsibilities in the Agriculture Ministry and Farmer’s Welfare. Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar was assigned extra duties in the Jal Shakti ministry. Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, was granted additional responsibilities in the Minister of State in Food Processing Industries.
Moreover, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharti Pravin Pawar assumed additional responsibilities as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
