New Delhi, The recently concluded assembly polls in five states have underscored the enduring influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the BJP emerging victorious in three states. Contrary to considering these elections as semi-finals before the 2024 general elections, the results highlight the significant role played by Modi in overcoming anti-incumbency and securing wins.
Prime Minister Modi, addressing the BJP headquarters, linked the recent state victories to a forthcoming hat-trick in the 2024 general elections. Despite the conventional practice of not projecting a chief ministerial face in states lacking strong local leadership, the BJP focused on the narrative of ‘Modi ki Guarantee,’ a strategy credited for the party’s success.
Leaders within the BJP, including Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje, attributed the victories to the people’s faith in “Modi ki Guarantee.” The party’s emphasis on Modi’s leadership, coupled with initiatives like Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s ‘Ladli Behna,’ particularly resonated with women voters, aligning with the 2019 general election strategy.
The results indicate that Modi’s appeal has not diminished, posing a formidable challenge for the Congress-led opposition. Despite attempts to emphasize a pan-India caste census, the Congress failed to sway voters, and the BJP’s adoption of promises (sops) proved effective. As the BJP pins its hopes on “Modi ki Guarantee” for the 2024 elections, the Congress-led INDIA bloc faces an uphill battle.
In the aftermath of the state victories, it is evident that the ‘Modi ki Guarantee’ strategy remains a powerful force, setting the stage for the BJP’s aspirations in the upcoming 2024 general elections. The Modi magic, witnessed over two general elections and numerous high-stakes assembly polls, presents a substantial hurdle for the opposition, making it a critical factor in the political landscape.
