New Delhi, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, a prominent Congress leader, has pronounced the disintegration of the much-anticipated opposition alliance, the INDIA bloc. Krishnam, known for his candid critiques of his own party, has raised questions about the sustainability and effectiveness of the alliance, suggesting that it faced immediate challenges post-formation, leading to its demise. He went on to claim that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar performed symbolic last rites for the bloc in Patna.
The INDIA bloc was initially conceived as a strategic move to consolidate opposition forces against the ruling government. However, Krishnam expressed skepticism about its current existence, stating, “I don’t think it exists anymore.”
In his detailed critique, Krishnam highlighted the metaphorical contraction of diseases by the alliance shortly after its inception, leading it to be placed on a metaphorical ventilator. He specifically pointed to Nitish Kumar’s recent actions as emblematic of conducting the last rites of the alliance.
Krishnam’s recent remarks come amid his continuous criticism of various decisions made by the Congress party leadership, including the party’s decision to skip the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. The Congress leader has been vocal about his perspectives on the party’s strategies and actions, even taking a dig at the timing of Rahul Gandhi-led initiatives.
Krishnam’s engagement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his invitation for Modi to a foundation stone-laying ceremony add a layer of complexity to the evolving political landscape. Despite facing criticism for his meeting with Modi, Krishnam emphasized the sacred nature of the occasion associated with faith and devotion.
As the political dynamics continue to evolve, Krishnam’s statements underscore internal challenges within the Congress party and its alliances, shaping the narrative of opposition politics in the country.
