**Headline:** PM Modi Boosts Confidence in Indigenous Capabilities with Tejas Sortie
New Delhi, In a significant demonstration of faith in India’s indigenous capabilities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi soared into the skies on Friday for a sortie on the Tejas aircraft. His experience has not only enriched him but has also instilled optimism about India’s potential in achieving self-reliance in the field of defence.
Sharing his exhilarating experience on the Tejas through the X platform, Prime Minister Modi remarked, “Successfully completed a sortie on the Tejas. The experience was incredibly enriching, significantly bolstering my confidence in our country’s indigenous capabilities, and leaving me with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about our national potential.”
Earlier in the day, Modi visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru, emphasizing the government’s commitment to indigenous defence production. The move aligns with the Prime Minister’s efforts to boost manufacturing and exports in the sector.
India’s defence exports reach an all-time high of Rs 15,920 crore in the fiscal year 2022-2023, reflecting the success of government initiatives promoting self-reliance. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted this achievement in April.
The Tejas aircraft gains attention on the global stage, with countries expressing interest in acquiring it. A recent agreement between US defence giant GE Aerospace and HAL for joint production further solidifies India’s position in the global defence arena.
PM Modi’s Tejas sortie becomes a symbol of India’s commitment to self-reliance in defence. The success of indigenous defence capabilities and collaborations with international partners mark significant milestones in positioning India as a key player in global defence manufacturing.
