In the ongoing battle of posters on social media, the Congress and the BJP are embroiled in a fierce visual exchange. This skirmish commenced when the Congress unleashed posters branding Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the “preeminent purveyor of falsehoods,” prompting a swift retaliatory strike from the BJP, which likened Rahul Gandhi to a contemporary embodiment of the mythological villain Ravana.
This ideological duel escalated further today as the Congress unveiled a new poster depicting PM Modi in a puppet-like stance, tethered to the name ‘Adani.’ This imagery is symbolic of the Congress and other opposition factions’ recurrent allegations that the government has maintained a close association with the Adani Group, allegedly conferring undue advantages upon the conglomerate.
Not to be outdone, the BJP subsequently retaliated with its own poster, casting Rahul Gandhi as a puppet under the influence of billionaire George Soros. Soros has faced previous allegations of intervening in the electoral processes of various nations for ideological purposes.
Simultaneously, across the nation, Congress activists orchestrated demonstrations against the BJP’s ‘new age Ravana’ poster, portraying Rahul Gandhi as the embodiment of evil. These protests unfolded in Delhi, Jaipur, Jammu and Kashmir, and Kerala. Video footage disseminated by news agency ANI exhibited police intervention, including barricades and, in some instances, the use of water cannons to disband the protesters.
Earlier this week, the BJP unveiled a poster featuring Rahul Gandhi, his visage adorned with multiple heads reminiscent of the mythical figure Ravana. The poster bore the ominous message: “Bharat khatre mein hai” (India is in danger), with a credits line that read, “A Congress party production. Directed by George Soros.”
This ongoing visual confrontation on social media underscores the intensifying political rivalry between the Congress and the BJP, manifesting in a battle of artistry and symbolism.
