Patna, In a press statement issued today, former JD(U) president Rajiv Ranjan Singh ‘Lalan’ vehemently denied media reports suggesting his involvement in a rebellion against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The reports, carried by a major newspaper and some news channels, alleged that Lalan had plotted in favor of Nitish Kumar’s deputy, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.
Lalan Singh, who resigned from the top party post, clarified that the claims were “completely misleading, false, and aimed at tarnishing my reputation.” Contrary to reports of attending a meeting in Bihar on December 20, Lalan stated that he was in Delhi to attend the meeting of the INDIA bloc along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He further highlighted his presence at a party MPs meeting at Nitish Kumar’s Delhi residence on the same day.
Addressing the reports, Lalan asserted, “The fact is, I had tendered my resignation only because of my engagements in my own Lok Sabha constituency.” He emphasized the strong leadership of Nitish Kumar and expressed confidence that the JD(U) stands united.
Lalan Singh concluded by stating his intent to take legal action against the media outlets responsible, mentioning, “I will send legal notices to all such media outlets and file defamation suits against these.”
