In a perplexing moment of forgetfulness, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar raised eyebrows during a recent ‘Janata Darbar’ meeting in Patna. In a curious mix-up, the Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of the state’s Home Minister, repeatedly urged an official to contact the home minister.
This episode of befuddlement persisted as Nitish Kumar adamantly insisted on connecting with the home minister. To the official’s confusion, Nitish Kumar reiterated his request multiple times. Eventually, in exasperation, he pointed towards a minister seated in the hall and directed the official to call him, declaring, “Call the home minister of the state. That minister sitting there, right next to me.”
However, the minister he had gestured towards was not the home minister but Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, who serves as the Minister for Finance, Commercial Taxes, and Parliamentary Affairs in the Bihar government.
Amidst the ensuing call and a baffled Nitish Kumar, it became evident that he had mistaken his own ministerial position. The incident, captured on video, has since circulated on social media, prompting amusement and commentary from netizens.
Nitish Kumar had convened the ‘Janata Darbar’ to listen to the grievances of citizens. Despite this puzzling episode, he proceeded to attend to the concerns of around 51 individuals during the session, instructing the relevant authorities to address their issues.
