In a recent interaction with PTI editors, prominent poll strategist Prashant Kishor made scathing remarks about the Congress party, particularly targeting its structural flaws and the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Kishor, known for his strategic prowess in election campaigns, highlighted that despite being unable to deliver significant results in the past decade, Rahul Gandhi continues to lead the party.

Describing the situation as “anti-democratic,” Kishor suggested that Rahul Gandhi should consider stepping back if the Congress fails to achieve desired outcomes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized the necessity of addressing the party’s internal flaws for its success in the political arena.

Responding to Kishor’s critique, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate chose not to engage directly with the consultant’s remarks, stating, “I do not answer on remarks by consultants.” Shrinate redirected the focus to political matters, avoiding any commentary on Kishor’s assessment of the party’s structural challenges.

Prashant Kishor’s involvement with the Congress had previously included drafting a revival plan, but disagreements with the party leadership led to his departure from the strategizing role.

The episode underscores the complexities within the Congress party as it navigates through internal restructuring and prepares for the upcoming electoral battles.
