New Delhi – In the wake of the most significant attack on Israeli soil in recent years, orchestrated by Hamas, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv has issued a vital advisory for Indian nationals residing in the region. This advisory comes in response to a coordinated onslaught involving armed infiltrations into several Israeli municipalities and a relentless barrage of rocket strikes originating from the Gaza Strip.

The advisory from the Indian Embassy urges all Indian nationals in Israel to remain vigilant and adhere strictly to the safety protocols outlined by local authorities. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of exercising extreme caution, avoiding unnecessary movements, and staying in proximity to designated safety shelters.

The Embassy has also provided additional resources for Indian citizens in Israel to stay informed and prepared during these trying times. Detailed information can be found on the Israeli Home Front Command website (https://www.oref.org.il/en) and in their comprehensive preparedness brochure. In cases of emergency, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the Embassy at +97235226748 or send a message to [email protected]. The Embassy staff remains readily available to offer guidance and support.

The rocket barrage launched in the early hours of the morning has inflicted a toll of at least 22 fatalities and numerous injuries, as reported by the Reuters news agency. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has unequivocally declared that Israel finds itself in a state of war with the Hamas militants governing the Gaza Strip.

In a televised address, Prime Minister Netanyahu affirmed that this is not merely an “operation” or a “round” but indeed a full-fledged war. He promptly ordered the mobilization of reservists and pledged that Hamas would face consequences of an unprecedented magnitude. “We are at war,” Netanyahu stated firmly, underlining the gravity of the situation.

Additionally, the Prime Minister has directed the Israeli military to liberate the infiltrated municipalities from the grasp of Hamas insurgents, who engaged in fierce confrontations with Israeli troops. Saturday witnessed a massive display of force by Hamas, including the firing of thousands of rockets at Israel and the infiltration of dozens of fighters across the heavily fortified border, catching Israel off-guard during a significant holiday.

This escalation occurred on the heels of Israel’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 1973 war, a conflict that brought the nation perilously close to catastrophic defeat in the face of a surprise attack launched by Syria and Egypt.

As the situation unfolds, the world watches closely, hoping for a swift resolution to this intensifying conflict.
