Patna, The Indian Railways has initiated a significant redevelopment project at 16 stations within the Sonepur division of the East Central Railway. The ambitious project, estimated at Rs 862.78 crore under the Amrit Bharat station redevelopment scheme, aims to enhance infrastructure and amenities for commuters.

Sonepur divisional railway manager, Vivek Bhushan Sood, stated that the major components of the redevelopment work are slated for completion by June 2024. The railways has adopted a comprehensive plan, utilizing drone cameras to monitor ongoing work sites, ensuring both quality and efficiency. Senior officials and experts are actively overseeing the progress.

The first phase of development has commenced at Sonepur station, with subsequent phases in stations such as Hajipur, Dighwara, Muzaffarpur, and others. The focus lies on refurbishing station buildings, improving approach roads, beautifying premises, and installing modern facilities like ramps, lifts, escalators, and more.

This initiative reflects the railways’ commitment to providing a seamless and enhanced experience for passengers. Stay tuned for further updates on this transformative project.
