In a significant move to enhance train travel comfort for the common man, Indian Railways is set to introduce the Amrit Bharat Express. Expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, this new train is designed as a push-pull locomotive with a speed potential of 130 kmph, specifically catering to the migrant labor force.

1. Aesthetic Design: The train, previously referred to as Vande Sadharan, boasts Vande Bharat-style aerodynamically designed locomotives in eye-catching hues of orange and grey.
2. Push-Pull Operation: Equipped with a WAP5 locomotive with 6,000 HP at each end, the push-pull operation facilitates faster acceleration, reducing travel time.
3. Coach Composition: The Amrit Bharat Express comprises 22 coaches, including 8 general second class coaches for unreserved passengers, 12 second-class 3-tier sleeper coaches, and two guard compartments.
4. Innovative Interior Features: The train incorporates an array of passenger-friendly features such as improved cushioned luggage racks, foldable snack tables, mobile chargers with suitable holders, and foldable bottle holders.
5. Enhanced Passenger Experience: With zero discharge FRP modular toilets, aerosol-based fire suppression systems, and fully sealed gangways, Amrit Bharat Express aims to provide a superior travel experience for non-AC passengers.
6. Routes and Inauguration: The inaugural Amrit Bharat Express trains are anticipated to run from Ayodhya in UP to Darbhanga in Bihar and Bengaluru to Malda in South India.
7. Manufacturing Source: Manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the trains aim to make non-AC train travel more comfortable for passengers.
