Chandigarh, In a significant move, the Haryana government has given the green light for crucial road infrastructure projects, earmarking an estimated ₹75 crore for the enhancement of eight state highways (SH). Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, during a comprehensive review meeting with zila parishad chairpersons and chief executive officers, underscored the need for dedicated engineering wings within zila parishads to oversee these projects and ensure their uninterrupted progress.
The approved road projects for improvement span across various regions, including Jagadhri-Bilaspur Sadhaura-Naraingarh-Raipur Rani Road in Ambala, Barwala-Hisar-Siwani Singhani Road (SH-19) in Bhiwani, Rewari-Dahina-Kanina-Mahendergarh-Satnali-Loharu Road (SH-26) in Bhiwani, Mahendergarh-Satnali-Loharu Road (SH-24) in Mahindergarh, Adampur to Jhansal Road in Hisar, Karnal Assandh-Jind-Hansi Road (SH-12) in Hisar, and Surewala Chowk to Uklana Bhuna Road (SH-02) in Hisar.
Simultaneously, a strategic decision has been made to transfer the maintenance responsibility of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board roads to the respective zila parishads. This move aims to streamline the process of annual repair and special repair, ensuring the longevity and quality of the state’s road infrastructure.
Chief Minister Khattar, emphasizing the importance of these infrastructure endeavors, directed officials to establish dedicated engineering wings within zila parishads. This directive is aimed at ensuring the efficient execution of the approved projects, safeguarding against any disruptions in the workflow.
This multifaceted approach by the Haryana government reflects a commitment to bolstering the state’s transportation infrastructure and ensuring the well-maintained quality of key highways.
