In a heartwarming gesture on the occasion of World Animal Day, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi unveiled his newest family member, a charming canine named “Noorie.” The four-legged companion, an exquisite Jack Russell Terrier, was flown all the way from Goa as a heartfelt gift for his mother, Sonia Gandhi.
Mr. Gandhi documented his memorable journey on his YouTube channel, showcasing his visit to a Goan family who graciously provided him with Noorie. The video also captures Mr. Gandhi’s metro ride as he made his way back to New Delhi, accompanied by his precious new friend.
During his visit to Goa in August, Mr. Gandhi carefully selected Noorie from renowned dog breeders Sharvani Pitre and Stanley Braganca. It is worth noting that he had inquired about the availability of Jack Russell Terriers through his office prior to the visit.
The journey home was not just an ordinary one. On the metro, Mr. Gandhi engaged in conversation with fellow passengers, even participating in a video call with a friend. However, the highlight of this heartwarming story was the moment he arrived home with Noorie.
Upon presenting Noorie to Sonia Gandhi, initial reluctance melted into joy. Mrs. Gandhi affectionately held the pup on her lap as Mr. Gandhi revealed the special surprise. “It’s a she?” Mrs. Gandhi inquired, to which Mr. Gandhi affirmed. “She’s so cute,” Mrs. Gandhi exclaimed, expressing her gratitude to her son for the thoughtful gift.
Noorie, the newest addition to the Gandhi family, soon had the opportunity to bond with Mrs. Gandhi’s other canine companion and even playfully interacted with a mobile phone back cover on the bed.
This heartfelt gesture on World Animal Day reflects the significance of the human-animal bond in the Gandhi family, where Noorie is set to bring boundless joy and companionship to her new home.
