In a significant overhaul, 18 IPS officers, including 11 district police chiefs, were reassigned in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening.
Dev Ranjan Verma, former Superintendent of Police in GRP Lucknow, assumes the role of Ballia SP, succeeding S Anand, who, following promotion, is now the new DIG STF. Abhishek Singh, former SP in ATS, has been posted to Muzaffarnagar as SP, while Sanjeev Suman, the erstwhile Muzaffarnagar SP, now holds the position of Aligarh SSP.
The reshuffling extends to various districts, with transfers including promotions and new responsibilities. Kalanidhi Naithani, recently promoted Aligarh SSP, is appointed as the new DIG for Jhansi range. Vrinda Shukla, the former Chitrakoot SP, now leads as Bahraich SP, and Arun Kumar Singh, SP Law and Order at DGP headquarters, takes over as Chitrakoot SP.
Further adjustments involve Aparna Rajat Kaushik, the DCP central zone, Lucknow, who assumes the role of Kasganj SP. Saurabh Dixit, the former Kasganj SP, transitions to Firozabad SP. Ashish Tiwari, Firozabad SP, heads to the US.
In a cascading effect, Abhishek Agarwal, Siddharthnagar SP, now serves as Rae Bareli SP, and Alok Priyadarshi, the outgoing Rae Bareli SP, takes charge as Badaun SP. OP Singh, former Badaun SP, attains the position of DIG Varanasi range. Prachi Singh, the former Shravasti SP, is now the Siddharthnagar SP. Ghanshyam, IG, Kanpur range, moves into the role of IG EOW, and Jogendra Kumar, DIG Jhansi range, assumes duties as IG Kanpur range. Akhilesh Chaurasiya, the outgoing DIG Varanasi, is posted as DIG anti-corruption organization.
The reshuffle aims to bring fresh perspectives and leadership to various districts, optimizing the skills and experience of the IPS officers in the state.
