Delhi and several northern states grapple with dense to very dense fog, causing disruptions in train and flight schedules. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warns that this weather condition will persist for the next four days in parts of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Chandigarh.

The thick fog has led to delayed trains and flights, affecting commuters. According to Northern Railways, at least 11 trains heading to Delhi are delayed due to the fog. Flyers are experiencing inconvenience with several flights delayed by a couple of hours.

The IMD advises caution while driving or using any mode of transportation. Dense to very dense fog is expected over several northern regions, including Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir, and the lower division of Himachal Pradesh.

Nearly 60 flights were diverted on Thursday due to low visibility amid the fog. Republic Day rehearsals continue amidst challenging weather conditions, with armed personnel seen conducting drills in the thick fog.

The MeT department urges travelers to stay informed about the schedules of airlines, railways, and state transport due to potential disruptions caused by the fog.
