In anticipation of the New Year, the renowned Mahavir Mandir in Patna is set to prepare a colossal offering of 20,000kg “Naivedyam laddoos” for devotees to present to Lord Hanuman. Temple trust secretary Acharya Kishore Kunal revealed that six priests from Ayodhya have been invited to lead prayers, while a substantial security force of 220 personnel, including 120 police officers, will ensure the safety of visitors.

Thousands of devotees are expected to visit Mahavir temple on January 1 to seek blessings for the upcoming year. With January 2 marking the first Tuesday of the new year, a day dedicated to Lord Hanuman, a surge in devotees is anticipated. To manage the expected crowd, arrangements have been meticulously put in place.

Skilled artisans from Tirupati are scheduled to commence the preparation of ‘Naivedyam’ from December 31. The temple management has ensured an adequate number of priests will be present on January 1 and 2, with volunteers assigned for crowd management. The district administration has been requested to deploy 120 police officers, and additional measures, including magistrates and private security guards, will be implemented.

Acharya Kishore Kunal emphasized, “The entry gate of the temple will open for devotees at 5 am, with separate queues for male and female devotees. Alongside the ‘jagran aarti’ at 5 am, the main sanctum doors, housing two idols of Lord Hanuman and Ram Darbar, will be opened for devotees.”

Mahavir Mandir’s preparations reflect the significance of ushering in the New Year with devout offerings, cultural rituals, and communal worship. The temple’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and spiritually enriching experience underscores the cultural tapestry of Patna.

As the Mahavir Mandir readies itself for the grand New Year celebrations, the atmosphere is charged with devotion, promising a memorable start to 2024 for the devotees of Lord Hanuman in Patna.
