In a notable decision, Bihar’s Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, has chosen to halt the live broadcast of his regular ‘Janata Durbar’ program. Historically, Nitish had encountered uncomfortable questions from attendees during his ‘Janata Durbar.’ The program had been broadcast live on various social media platforms. However, Nitish made the decision not to live stream the program this past Monday. Previously, Nitish used to hold press conferences following his ‘Janata Darbar,’ but this practice was discontinued some time ago. It remains to be seen how the general public will react to the cessation of live broadcasts of ‘Janata Durbars.’ A senior IAS officer pointed out that the broadcast of the show commenced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former Minister Advocates Controversial Actions Towards Officers

Former Bihar Agriculture Minister Sudhakar Singh has once again stirred controversy by advising farmers to spit on an officer’s face if they fail to perform their duties. Singh remarked that if the central government could yield to farmers’ demands, there was no reason why the state government couldn’t do the same. He made these remarks while addressing a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Kaimur district. Furthermore, Singh suggested that officers should be honored with shoes, not flowers. Singh also took a swipe at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, highlighting that a single person has held power for the past 18 years.

Nagar Nayak’ Awards Conferred Upon 31 Distinguished Individuals

A total of 31 individuals from diverse fields were bestowed with the ‘Nagar Nayak’ award at an event organized by the Rashtriya Yuva Gandhi Sangh in Bihar’s Vaishali district. The ceremony took place on Gandhi Jayanti, observed on October 2. Recipients of the awards included personnel from SDRF, potters, students, and individuals from various walks of life. Participants urged the public to collaborate with municipal sanitation staff in maintaining a clean and garbage-free city. They emphasized that the responsibility for city cleanliness should not rest solely with the corporation staff but also with the citizens.
