In a recent development, the renowned Indian IT giant, Infosys Ltd, declared an interim dividend of ₹18 per share during the announcement of its Q2 results for the financial year 2023-24. This dividend declaration, set to be payable on October 25, 2023, has significant implications for Akshata Murty, wife of Britain’s Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. As one of the promoters of Infosys, Akshata Murty is a significant shareholder, possessing 1.05% stake in the Indian IT powerhouse.

As of the shareholding pattern data for the April to June 2023 quarter, Akshata Murty holds a substantial 3,89,57,096 Infosys shares, representing her status as a promoter of the company. The current market climate has seen Infosys shares trading ex-dividend, which implies that eligible shareholders will receive the previously declared ₹17.50 interim dividend, further contributing to Akshata Murty’s growing net worth.

The combined effect of the Q1 and Q2 dividend announcements amounts to an impressive ₹138 crore increase in Akshata Murty’s net worth. While the Q1 announcement added ₹68 crore to her wealth, the recent ₹18 per share dividend declared in Q2 has infused an additional ₹70 crore.

It’s worth noting that for Akshata Murty to be eligible for the ₹18 per share interim dividend, she must maintain her significant holding of Infosys shares until the record date, October 25, 2023. This development underscores the substantial financial impact that Infosys dividends have on major stakeholders, making it a key subject of interest for investors and market enthusiasts.

As the financial landscape continues to evolve, the story of Infosys dividends and their influence on shareholders’ net worth remains a compelling narrative to follow closely. With the shareholding pattern for July to September 2023 yet to be disclosed, further financial revelations may be on the horizon.
