Prominent Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, and the party’s distinguished General Secretary, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, have graced Chennai with their presence to partake in the DMK Women’s Rights Conference on this fine Saturday. Their arrival at the Chennai airport was met with a warm welcome by a substantial contingent of Congress loyalists.
This notable conference, under the esteemed chairmanship of Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister, MK Stalin, aims to exert substantial pressure on the central government for the immediate enactment of a 33 percent reservation for women in both Parliament and state assemblies.
Prior to the event, Tamil Nadu’s CM, MK Stalin, meticulously inspected the venue at the Nandanam YMCA ground in Chennai. It’s noteworthy that Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party’s Deputy General Secretary, K. Kanimozhi, extended invitations to prominent female leaders from across the nation to participate in this significant conference. Graciously accepting this invitation are former President of the All India Congress Party, Sonia Gandhi, her illustrious daughter, Priyanka Gandhi, and the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti. Distinguished women leaders from parties united under the INDIA Alliance are set to grace this important occasion.
