Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a eulogistic address at the 125th Founder’s Day celebration of The Scindia School in Gwalior, where he extolled the Scindia family’s remarkable legacy. Addressing a distinguished gathering, including Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Jitendra Singh, and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, PM Modi bestowed accolades upon the Scindia dynasty.
During this significant event, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a versatile sports complex and unveiled a commemorative postal stamp. In his speech, he articulated his special connection with Gwalior, delineating two compelling reasons for this bond.
PM Modi elucidated, “Firstly, I represent the parliamentary constituency of Kashi, and the Scindia family’s invaluable contributions to preserving our culture and serving Kashi are etched in history. They have been instrumental in erecting numerous ‘ghats’ along the banks of the sacred Ganges and have generously supported the establishment of Banaras Hindu University (BHU). My second link to Gwalior is through Jyotiraditya Scindia, who is affectionately known as Gujarat’s son-in-law, strengthening my bond with this city.”
Ever since Jyotiraditya Scindia’s pivotal move to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following a rebellion that led to the collapse of the Congress-led government in Madhya Pradesh, a delicate interplay has been unfolding within the BJP, involving Scindia’s loyalists and veteran members.

PM Modi also bestowed accolades upon Jyotiraditya’s father, Madhavrao Scindia, lauding his far-sighted approach that focused not only on immediate gains but also on shaping the future for subsequent generations.
The PM reflected on the Scindia School as a testament to Madhavrao Scindia’s visionary thinking, recognizing the immense potential of human resources. He disclosed an intriguing fact: the Indian transportation company founded by Madhavrao Scindia continues to operate today, known as the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
PM Modi evoked the audacity of thinking beyond conventional boundaries, reminiscent of Madhavrao Scindia’s initiatives, notably the introduction of Shatabdi trains when he served as the Rail Minister. These modern trains, an innovation three decades ahead of their time, have transformed into the Vande Bharat trains. The PM urged the students to adopt a similar audacious spirit, emphasizing the manifold opportunities unfolding in the space and defense sectors.
