WASHINGTON— Renowned African-American actress and singer, Mary Millben, extolled the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting his unwavering support for women and his role in advancing India’s prosperity. This commendation comes in the wake of controversial remarks made by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the state assembly, which drew strong criticism.

Millben conveyed her views on the current election season, acknowledging its emergence not only in India but across the world, emphasizing the transformative potential it holds. She underscored the opportunity it presents to replace outdated policies and non-progressive figures with voices that inspire and align with the collective convictions and aspirations of a nation.

Elaborating on her admiration for Prime Minister Modi, Mary Millben stated, “Many people ask why I support Prime Minister Modi and closely follow India’s affairs. The answer is simple. I love India… And I firmly believe that Prime Minister Modi is the best leader for India and for the advancement of its citizens. He’s an unparalleled advocate for the relationship between the United States and India, and for global economic stability. Moreover, the Prime Minister is a staunch supporter of women.”

On a related note, Mary Millben openly criticized Nitish Kumar for his derogatory remarks made in the state assembly. She called for a courageous woman to step forward and declare her candidacy for the position of Bihar Chief Minister, highlighting the need for such empowerment.

In addition, she urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to empower a woman to lead in Bihar, advocating for genuine women’s empowerment and progress. Her passionate commentary on the matter resonated with a call for action in the context of the upcoming Bihar elections.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during an election rally in Madhya Pradesh, strongly rebuked Nitish Kumar for his derogatory comments regarding women and population control. Without directly mentioning Nitish Kumar, PM Modi alluded to the controversial statements made by the Bihar Chief Minister.

Nitish Kumar’s use of derogatory language in the state assembly during the winter session had sparked outrage and widespread criticism. However, he later issued an apology for his remarks, acknowledging their inappropriateness and expressing regret for any offense caused.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) also weighed in on the matter, demanding an unconditional apology from Nitish Kumar in response to his remarks.

In light of this development, the scrutiny surrounding Nitish Kumar’s statements and the ensuing debates underscore the importance of respectful and informed discourse in the political landscape.
