Gupta, in an announcement made on Saturday, reveals his commitment to distribute the substantial prize money among all Astrotalk users who registered before the commencement of the tournament. The amount each user receives will be determined by the overall number of registrations.
Taking to LinkedIn, Gupta shares a personal anecdote from the 2011 ODI World Cup when India clinched the title. As a college student in Chandigarh, he vividly recalls the jubilation of that historic victory and the camaraderie shared with friends during the intense match.
“The last time India won the World Cup in 2011, I was studying in college, and it was one of the happiest days of my life. I watched the match with all my friends in the auditorium of a nearby college in Chandigarh,” reminisces Gupta.
Expressing gratitude towards Astrotalk users, whom he considers akin to friends, Gupta emphasizes his desire to share the happiness of a potential World Cup triumph with the platform’s community. This led to his decision to allocate ₹100 crores from Astrotalk’s funds to users’ wallets if India emerges victorious.
Last night, I was thinking about what I could do this time. Last time I had a few friends with whom I could share my happiness, but this time we have so many Astrotalk users who are more like friends, so I must do something to share my happiness with them,”states Gupta.
