In a fiery speech during a public rally in Kolkata, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) will be implemented without hindrance. Shah, targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accused her of supporting infiltration and asserted that a state with persistent infiltration cannot progress.

Amit Shah, in his address that marked the launch of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Lok Sabha campaign in West Bengal, urged the electorate to oust the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government by electing the BJP in the upcoming assembly polls in 2026. Additionally, he called on the people to support the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, laying the foundation for significant electoral success.

During the rally, Shah emphasized the need to give a substantial number of seats to the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, suggesting that such an outcome would attribute Prime Minister Modi’s leadership to Bengal’s support.

While acknowledging Assam’s success in curbing infiltration, Shah criticized the TMC government for allowing infiltration in West Bengal due to what he referred to as “vote-bank politics.” He categorically stated that the CAA would be implemented nationwide, regardless of opposition.

Shah also touched upon issues of corruption, political violence, and development in West Bengal, accusing the TMC of rigging the last assembly polls. He highlighted the BJP’s significant rise in seats, reaching 77 from zero.

The Home Minister concluded by expressing that the people of Bengal are tired of TMC’s alleged corruption and syndicates, and he predicted that voters would retaliate against the political violence by supporting the BJP in the 2026 assembly polls.
