Chandigarh:The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh is gearing up for the annual “Chrysanthemum Show,” a three-day celebration set to commence on Friday, December 8. The event, to be held at the Terrace Garden in Sector 33, has received a sanction of Rs 19.72 lakh from the civic body.

The show promises to showcase around 270 varieties of flowers, including home-grown flowers brought in by residents. Alongside the vibrant display, attendees can participate in a floral quiz with allocated prize money for different categories.

“Chrysanthemum Show is held every year, where various government and semi-government institutions, private growers, and entities like Chandigarh Housing Board, PGIMER, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, HUDA participate. The event will also host competitions for flowers grown in pots,” stated officials.

The civic body plans to enhance the visitor experience by setting up food stalls at the event. Last year’s success with food stalls has encouraged officials to include them again this year.

The event is expected to attract flower enthusiasts and residents eager to witness the colorful spectacle. The Chrysanthemum Show not only serves as a platform for appreciation but also fosters community participation in horticultural activities.
