As the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) gears up for the second phase of the Teachers’ Recruitment Examination (TRE) scheduled across 555 centers in 28 districts from December 7, an array of stringent security measures has been revealed to ensure the integrity and fairness of the examination process.

Addressing the media in Patna, BPSC chairman Atul Prasad shared intricate details of the protocols implemented to facilitate the smooth conduct of the examination. Entry into the examination hall will cease one hour before the commencement of exams, with an emphasis on more rigorous biometric verification to combat impersonation. Candidates have been strongly advised to arrive well in advance, ideally two-and-a-half hours before the scheduled exam time.

To safeguard the sanctity of the examination, question booklets have been meticulously encased in plastic and securely stored within locked steel boxes. The opening of these sealed boxes will be conducted in the presence of candidates. After the conclusion of the exam, candidates’ OMR sheets will be sealed within the examination hall. The multi-layered security apparatus also includes QR-code scanning of e-admit cards, facial recognition technology, and bar-code scanning of OMR sheets for each candidate.

Surveillance measures are set to intensify with the strategic installation of CCTV cameras in both the examination room and entry gate, with monitoring centralized at both district and commission headquarters. To further bolster security, each district control room will be equipped with one proctor for every 24 examination centers, and mobile jammers will be operational at all examination centers.

A staggering 8.41 lakh candidates have registered for the examination, vying for 1.22 lakh vacant teaching positions. The examination is scheduled in two shifts on December 7 and subsequently in a single shift from December 8 to 15.
