New Delhi, In a remarkable feat, 16-year-old Jigyasa, a resident of Gurgaon, secured the top position in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024, declaring her ambition to become a judge in Bihar. Despite not having lived in the state, she expressed a strong connection and a desire to make a mark in Bihar’s legal landscape.

Jigyasa’s exceptional achievement includes being the Delhi-NCR region topper and clinching the all-India top position in the economically weaker section category. She has earned a coveted seat at NLSIU, Bengaluru.

Accompanied by her proud father, Pushpak, who works in the informal engineering sector, Jigyasa expressed her determination to support her children’s choices. Despite a family income below Rs 6 lakh, her mother, Simanjali Singh, a former government botany teacher, played a crucial role in motivating Jigyasa to pursue law.

Choosing law over other options like architecture and design, Jigyasa faced skepticism for opting for commerce with mathematics in Class XII. Undeterred, she confidently responded to critics, asserting her goal to become a lawyer in six years.

Jigyasa credited her tutor, Anand Sharma, for supporting her throughout the preparation. Despite lacking family members in the legal profession, her sincerity and dedication led her to the top spot. Ayush Gupta, director of the tuition centre, emphasized Jigyasa’s never-say-die attitude as a key factor in her success.

As she takes the first step towards her legal career, Jigyasa acknowledges challenges in navigating certain aspects without the guidance that friends with lawyer parents receive. However, her proactive approach to making connections and seeking advice showcases her determination to overcome these obstacles.

Stay tuned as Jigyasa embarks on her journey towards a promising legal career, breaking barriers and setting an inspiring example for aspiring lawyers.
