In a significant financial twist, Savitri Jindal, the chairperson emeritus of JSW Steel, has surpassed Azim Premji in net worth, securing the fifth position among India’s richest individuals. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Jindal’s current net worth stands at nearly $25 billion, while Premji trails with a total net worth of $24 billion. Jindal holds the 61st position globally, whereas Premji ranks 66th among billionaires.

Just two years ago, Premji held the third spot in India’s wealthiest list, but a 42% decline in Wipro’s share price over the last two years has impacted his net worth.

Savitri Jindal’s wealth has seen an impressive 87% growth in the same period, attributed to her diverse investments in sectors such as power, cement, and infrastructure. JSW Steel has notably contributed around 30% to her fortune, with additional gains from JSW Infrastructure, Jindal Steel & Power, and JSW Energy.

As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Mukesh Ambani remains the wealthiest person in India, boasting a net worth of $92.3 billion. Globally, Ambani secures the 13th position. Gautam Adani follows as the second richest in India, with a total net worth of $85.3 billion, holding the 14th position globally.

Shapoor Mistry of Tata Group ranks as the third richest Indian, with a net worth of $33.8 billion. Founder of HCL Technologies, Shiv Nadar, takes the fourth position among India’s richest, with a net worth of $31.6 billion. Internationally, Mistry is at the 40th position, while Nadar holds the 45th rank.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to reign as the world’s wealthiest person, with a staggering net worth of $223 billion.
