New Delhi, Neelam Azad, one of the four individuals arrested for the recent security breach in the Lok Sabha, has a background as a civil services aspirant and holds credentials as she has successfully cleared the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test. The incident unfolded when Azad and three others were apprehended outside the Parliament premises.

Azad, a 37-year-old woman from Ghaso Khurd village, had been residing in Hisar for higher studies. Her arrest has raised questions about her involvement in the breach, considering her educational background and qualifications. Azad’s brother revealed that her certificate for the Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test had expired, prompting her to go to Hisar for coaching. He expressed surprise at her arrest, mentioning that she hadn’t discussed the Parliament protest during her recent visit.

Azad, who holds postgraduate degrees in MA, M Ed, and M Phil, had also passed the National Eligibility Test (NET). Despite her qualifications, she faced challenges securing a teaching position in Delhi previously. In the last six months, she had been actively preparing for competitive exams while residing in Delhi.

The arrest has left family members puzzled, with Azad’s mother expressing unawareness of her daughter’s visit to Delhi. Azad’s actions during the farmers’ protests were also highlighted, where she was reportedly detained along with wrestler Sakshi Malik’s mother and farmer leader Sikkim Nain.

Neelam Azad’s recent involvement in the security breach has brought attention to the motivations behind her actions, with family members and villagers expressing uncertainty about the reasons for her participation.
