In a decisive move, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, led by Inspector General VK Birdi, has announced stringent measures against individuals spreading terror narratives on social media platforms. The police aim to take firm action against those disturbing peace and propagating a terror narrative.

Acknowledging the evolving challenges, IGP Birdi emphasized the adoption of robust measures to combat online threats and ensure vigilance against terror propagation on social media platforms. He urged the police force to be well-prepared to respond swiftly to any security incidents, directing impartial and stern action against law violators.

“The officers should intensify anti-terrorist operations and take stringent action against individuals or organizations supporting anti-national activities,” Birdi stated.

Analyzing the crime situation, special emphasis was placed on detecting crimes against women. Birdi highlighted that surveillance on elements involved in criminal activities would act as a significant deterrent.

The directive also stressed the need for professional investigation in UAPA cases to ensure the conviction of accused individuals and effectively address the terrorist eco-system.
