Surat, In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse and the new airport terminal, a robust security and traffic management plan has been implemented in the city. A total of 5,350 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Joint Police Commissioner (Traffic) HR Chaudhary outlined the security measures, stating that 3,000 policemen, including high-ranking officers, constables, and traffic personnel, will be stationed at key locations and along the routes of the Prime Minister’s cavalcade. Special precautions, such as declaring No Drone Flying Zones, have been taken, and arrangements have been made to facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles and airport passengers during the visit.
In addition to the police force, 1,800 home guard jawans and 550 TRBs (Traffic Response Battalion) have been enlisted to enhance security and manage traffic flow during the high-profile visit. Prime Minister Modi is expected to receive a warm welcome from BJP workers and citizens along the route from the airport to the Surat Diamond Bourse in Khajod.
Certain areas have been barricaded for security reasons, and heavy vehicles are temporarily restricted from entering specific parts of the city during the visit. These measures aim to ensure the safety and smooth functioning of the event, with normal traffic resuming after the Prime Minister’s departure.
