In a recent statement, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal expressed his views on the construction of the Ram Mandir, criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) approach. Sibal, who declared his devotion to Lord Ram, labeled the construction as a mere “show-off,” emphasizing that the BJP’s actions are not in line with the teachings of Lord Ram.
“I have Ram in my heart. I don’t need to show off. What I say to you is from my heart because I do not care about all these things. If Ram is in my heart and Ram has guided me throughout my journey, it means that I have done something right,” Sibal told ANI.
When questioned about his attendance at the upcoming Ram Lalla consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, Sibal asserted that his faith is a personal matter and does not require public display.
Critiquing the BJP’s approach, Sibal highlighted the disparity between the party’s public praise for Lord Ram and their actions. He stated that the BJP’s behavior, character, and principles are “nowhere close to Ram’s.” Sibal urged that Ram’s virtues, including truthfulness, tolerance, sacrifice, and respect for others, should guide political actions and align with constitutional goals.
In addition to his remarks on the Ram Mandir, Sibal raised concerns about recent criminal bills passed in Parliament. He questioned the nature of these bills and the lack of consultation with legal experts during their formulation. Sibal also criticized the suspension of numerous parliamentarians, emphasizing the need for a more inclusive and consultative legislative process.
