In a bizarre incident, a small plane being transported on a large truck became lodged on an overbridge along National Highway 28 in Motihari, the eastern Champaran district’s headquarters in Bihar. The news of the plane getting stuck created a spectacle, causing traffic chaos for approximately two hours near the Piparakothi intersection on the National Highway.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as onlookers raced to catch a glimpse of the plane, some even taking selfies with the unusual sight. The authorities worked for nearly two hours to devise a way to extract the plane from its predicament. Eventually, all wheels of the truck carrying the plane were deflated, and a meticulous operation unfolded to free the aircraft from under the overbridge.
The plane, acquired by a scrap dealer in Mumbai through an auction, was en route to Assam when the incident occurred. The route required the vehicle to pass under the overbridge near Piparakothi before heading towards Muzaffarpur. Despite efforts by the driver to dislodge the plane, it remained stuck, causing a significant traffic jam on NH-28.
After hours of painstaking efforts, the stranded aircraft, loaded on a truck, was successfully removed from under the overbridge. Local authorities, including the police, were present to oversee the operation and manage the growing crowd of onlookers. The incident has sparked discussions across the city, with residents sharing their experiences of the unusual traffic disruption caused by the airborne mishap.
