Ayodhya, In a heartfelt plea, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the inauguration of Maharshi Valmiki Airport in Ayodhya, requested devotees to refrain from visiting the Ram Temple on January 22. “Devotees can’t do anything to trouble Lord Ram,” he emphasized.

PM Modi suggested an alternative way to participate in the occasion: “Instead, light a diya at home on January 22. That day should be Diwali across India.” The Prime Minister acknowledged the long-awaited event and cited logistical and security constraints as reasons for the appeal. “You have waited for over 550 years. Wait for some more time,” he urged.

Highlighting the ongoing preparations for the grand event, PM Modi emphasized the need for an uninterrupted ceremony. “Don’t crowd here because the temple is not going anywhere; it will be there for centuries,” he assured. He urged patience and stated, “You can come anytime in January, February, or March or next year. But don’t come on January 22.”

In a bid to maintain cleanliness during this significant period, PM Modi announced a swacchata drive across all temples in India, starting from January 14, coinciding with Makar Sankranti. “Lord Ram belongs to the entire country. And now that he is coming, no temple no matter how small or big should remain dirty,” PM Modi declared.

As Ayodhya prepares to host lakhs of visitors, PM Modi called upon the residents to make the city the cleanest in the country. “The people of Ayodhya will have to take an oath to make Ayodhya the cleanest city in the country,” he asserted.
