In a recent X (formerly Twitter) rant, Bollywood actor Richa Chadha expressed dissatisfaction with online travel company MakeMyTrip and airline Air India, labeling them as ‘sasta (cheap) cheats’ and urging her followers to steer clear of these companies. Chadha accused the companies of canceling flights without notice and changing timings, leading to missed connections.
Chadha took a swipe at MakeMyTrip’s customer service, claiming it makes refund claims nearly impossible. She also criticized Air India for arrogant behavior and last-minute changes without apologies. In a tweet, she stated, “Do yourself a favour, avoid these 2 SCAMSTERS in 2024! I hope your companies endure more losses than you have in all of your collective histories, saste (cheap) cheats!”
MakeMyTrip’s Response:
MakeMyTrip responded to Chadha’s tweets, expressing regret for any inconvenience and requesting her booking ID for a prompt resolution. Chadha responded by deleting the MakeMyTrip app from her phone and advising her followers to support local travel agents.
Unmoved by MakeMyTrip’s response, Richa Chadha dismissed their regret, emphasizing her decision to delete the app. She urged her followers to support local employment and avoid the alleged ‘crooks.’ When suggested to use another travel company, Chadha dismissed Air India as a ‘thakela (worthless) loss-making mammoth.’
The Twitter exchange sheds light on the growing discontent among consumers towards certain travel services, emphasizing the need for improved customer experiences in the industry.
