Chennai,  In an attempt to resolve issues, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin engaged in a 40-minute discussion at Raj Bhavan, complying with the Supreme Court’s directive to address their disputes.

Stalin, emphasizing the Governor’s “unnecessary” actions, urged Ravi to recall 10 bills reserved for the President’s consideration promptly. These bills empower the state government to appoint vice-chancellors of state-run universities.

Governor Ravi reiterated his commitment to Tamil Nadu’s welfare within constitutional bounds. The Chief Minister urged adherence to constitutional provisions for the benefit of the state and its administration.

The Supreme Court, hearing a petition against the governor’s inaction, suggested resolving the impasse over tea. The case is scheduled for the next hearing on January 23.

Stalin also appealed for the swift approval of pending files, emphasizing the need for expeditious decision-making.
